Trans Am is the latest championship to turn to esports as a solution to the lack of real-world racing.
The US-based series is hosting its first virtual event this weekend in place of what should have been round two of the 2020 series at Road Atlanta.
An impressive entry of 31 drivers has been assembled for a race at the classic Lime Rock circuit, with all drivers using the same 2012 Chevrolet Camaro GT3. The race is being run on an rFactor2 mod.
Action starts at 4pm (ET) on Saturday Match 28, and the full race is being streamed live on the UMG YouTube and Twitch channels.
