The Montenegro brothers continued to dominate the MotoGP eSport Global Series as they took a 1-2 finish in both races in the third round.

KTM’s Williams_Adrian took pole position for the first of two races which took place at the Misano circuit with his brother Williams_Cristian in second.

The next two fastest riders in qualifying were 2019 champion AndrewZH, real name Andrea Saveri, and the 2017 and 2018 champion trastevere73, real name Lorenzo Daretti.

The two previous champions touched on the run down to the first corner as both ran off circuit to go up the inside of one another, with Daretti coming off worse as he fell off his bike after Saveri went into the side of him.

In the desperation to get track position, Saveri’s entry into the Turn 2 and 3 chicane was compromised and he fell to sixth, and he then lost even more positions later in the opening lap as he crashed heading into Turn 8.

As has been the case for so much of the Global Series this year, Adrian Montenegro held onto the race lead and was able to keep his rivals behind to take his fourth win in five races.

He crossed the line 1.7 seconds ahead of his brother Cristian and 3.9 seconds in front of Francisco Santiago, known as EleGhosT555, who completed the podium places.

The big mover at Misano was Juan Nunez, whose screen name is Juan_nh16, as he started from last on the grid after failing to set a lap time in qualifying.

A good launch off the grid and his ability to avoid the chaos in the first few corners and stay on his bike meant he passed the chequered flag in fourth.

The sixth Global Series race and the second one in the third round was held at Phillip Island and Williams Esports racer Adrian maintained his 100% pole position record in the 2020 season.

Yet again his brother Cristian, who’s the only other person to have won a race in this year’s Global Series, started the race from second with two-time champion Daretti in third.

The front three proved to be the class of the field around the Australian venue as they maintained their positions from start to end and all of them finished within one second of each other.

Aprillia’s Santiago finished fourth after a crash took out the two riders who started directly in front of him.

Last year’s champion Saveri and Sanshoqueen, real name Mulkanarizky Kane, made contact with one another in the Malaysian race in the second round and the two came together at the start of this race.

Kane touched the back of another bike, which slowed him down and then caused the same chain of events to slow down Saveri.

The two dropped towards the bottom of the field. Then on the entry to the first corner Saveri was held up by Henrique Botton, known as FooXz, but Kane didn’t have time to react to the bikes ahead and went into the back of Saveri, taking them both out.

Despite crashing a second time in the race Saveri still caught up to the back of the field and didn’t finish last as he beat Botton by five seconds across the line.

After taking five wins from six races Adrian Montenegro now has a 39 point lead over brother Cristian.

The final round of the Global Series will take place on November 27 with double points on offer for both races.
