After starting the season at the Barber Motorsports Park road course, the IndyCar aspirants in the Indy Lights field head to the streets of St Petersburg for rounds three and four this weekend.
Linus Lundqvist’s win and second place in the two Barber races gave him a handy early championship lead, while Barber race two victor David Maluckas was playing catch-up following a first-corner clash in the opener.
Maluckas closed substantially on Lundqvist in Saturday’s first St Pete race, but the headline was that the highly-rated Kyle Kirkwood – already a champion in Indy Pro 2000, USF2000, F3 Americas and F4 USA – launched his Lights title bid with a hard-fought win.
