The Race IndyCar Podcast returns from a short winter hiatus with double series champion and Team Penske star Josef Newgarden headlining this episode.
Having narrowly missed out on the last two championships to Chip Ganassi Racing rivals, Newgarden joins The Race American Editor Jack Benyon and podcast co-host JR Hildebrand to assess his chances this season.
Newgarden is quizzed on the loss of his engineer Gavin Ward to rivals Arrow McLaren SP, the Penske squad shrinking from four cars to three and about the chances of an American driver reaching Formula 1 and how that might be best achieved.
He also addresses his development in areas like confidence and dealing with adversity in order to become a more well-rounded driver, and gives a fascinating insight into the inside workings of the Penske team synonymous with success in US motorsport.
The Race IndyCar Podcast will return before the season kicks off at St Petersburg to break down IndyCar’s off-season changes and preview the upcoming year.
