This week’s The Race Esports Podcast has real-life flavour, with Formula E frontrunner Maximilian Guenther and IndyCar driver Sage Karam discussing their simracing successes.
Guenther has been pulling double duty in his sim. He won last weekend’s Hong Kong Formula E Race at Home Challenge opener, before immediately jumping into The Race All-Star Cup – Fully Charged by ROKiT Phones, where he finished as the top real-world racer in the initial three-part series, earning $30,000 to donate to a charity of his choice.
While Guenther is a (highly successful) newcomer to simracing, Dreyer & Reinbold driver Sage Karam was a beta tester for the original iRacing platform and races for the Coanda team in his spare time.
Karam has also been on esports double-duty, competing against Lando Norris in IndyCar last weekend before jumping straight into his stint in iRacing’s online Nurburgring 24 Hours.
As well as chatting with special guests Karam and Guenther, hosts Claire Cottingham and Jack Nicholls discuss Erhan Jajovski’s All-Star Cup win and resultant F1 simulator test prize, as well as the usual thrills and spills in the Legends Trophy where Petter Solberg and Jenson Button won races.
