1 min read

The latest episode of The Race F1 Podcast sets the scene for the denouement of the 2021 Formula 1 world championship battle between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton.

Gary Anderson and Mark Hughes join Edd Straw to discuss the key factors that will decide the destiny of the title, starting with the relative performance level of the two drivers and how they might approach the next time they cross swords on track after two collisions earlier in the season.

The relative merits of the Mercedes and Red Bull cars are also examined both in terms of their outright performance and their suitability for the remaining six circuits.

There’s also a look at the role the teams will play in terms of how effectively Mercedes and Red Bull extract the potential of their cars, and other key factors such as strategy and pitstops.

The role of the number two drivers, Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez, could also be crucial so we look at how valuable they could be, and in what circumstances each could be most influential.
