AlphaTauri’s unveiling of its AT03 wasn’t just the reveal of a new car because it also gave us our first hints about the 2022 Red Bull car, as we discuss in the latest edition of The Race F1 Podcast.
Gary Anderson and Mark Hughes join Edd Straw to look at the key design features of the new AlphaTauri, in particular those that could be applicable to the Red Bull given the parts-sharing synergy between the teams.
We take a look at the sidepod design, which sits midway between the extremes taken by McLaren and Aston Martin, the suspension configuration and the front wing and nose design – as well as many other details of the car.
There’s also the question of whether AlphaTauri really can sustain its recent form given it has been mixing it with bigger teams.
We also briefly look at the newly-announced 2022 sprint races and the change to the points awarded for shortened races after they were announced by F1 and the FIA.
