Podcast: Are Aston Martin’s grand F1 plans on target?

We evaluate Aston Martin’s Formula 1 progress two seasons into its five-year plan to emerge as a frontrunner in the latest edition of The Race F1 Podcast.

Mark Hughes and Claire Cottingham join Edd Straw to tackle the team’s disappointing 2021 and ’22 seasons, and explain why a big step will be taken next season.

While Aston Martin will remain in F1’s midfield pack next year, it is scheduled to move into its new facility adjacent to its current headquarters in Silverstone during 2023. This will unlock significantly more potential for the team, especially once the new state-of-the-art windtunnel is up and running the following year.

We ask if it is successfully retaining the strengths that made it a perennial F1 overachiever in its past guises as it aspires to grow to match F1’s biggest teams, and what its recovery during 2022 says about its qualities.
