The 2022 AlphaTauri Formula 1 car has properly broken cover for the first time, with the team unveiling images and footage of what is a striking AT03 design.
While sister team Red Bull kept its cards close to its chest and has only unveiled its 2022 colour scheme so far, AlphaTauri did opt for a proper car launch – but the design that took to the track during its shakedown is clearly different to what had been originally showcased.
The shakedown took place at Misano on February 15, with its 2022 drivers Pierre Gasly and Yuki Tsunoda both hitting the track, but AlphaTauri only unveiled images of the filming day session a week on and a day prior to the start of pre-season testing in Barcelona.
It means that only Red Bull and Alpine are yet to release track pictures of their 2022 contenders.
While certain facets of the AT03 may well change for Barcelona – and almost certainly will for the second test and subsequent season opener in Bahrain – the pictures released offer a view of what is a pretty unique flat-and-wide nosecone design segueing into a raised front wing (see comparison above of shakedown and launch front wings).
