The Isle of Man TT organiser has announced that veteran racer Davy Morgan has died following an incident in Monday’s opening supersport race.

A red flag was shown for the incident on the Mountain, at the 27th milestone section of the course, bringing a stop to the action in the middleweight class race after Michael Dunlop had already been crowned as the race winner.

Morgan was a highly experienced TT competitor, having contested every TT since his debut in the 2002 production 600 race. The supersport race was his 80th TT start.

His TT career included a seventh-place finish in the 2006 Senior TT and a career-best fifth place in the 2008 Lightweight TT.

Morgan recorded 49 finishes, which included 25 top-20 finishes. His best lap around the TT Mountain Course was at an average speed of 125.134mph, which he set in the 2010 Senior TT.

The Race joins the wider racing community in offering its deepest condolences to Davy’s partner Trudy, his team, and his family and friends at this incredibly tough time.
