Jorge Martin is the rightful - and historic, by virtue of his satellite rider status - MotoGP champion in 2024, but he is not the only rider with a case for being considered 'rider of the season'.
This is our collective top 10 riders for the season - as chosen on aggregate by Val Khorounzhiy, Simon Patterson and four other members of The Race's team - taking into account not just the results but the machinery available and the surroundings.
There was plenty of disagreement between our panel over where to put particular riders, with some weighing underdogs' performance in adversity much higher than others did.
