Tech3 reveals all-orange livery after Red Bull loss

KTM’s satellite MotoGP team Tech3 has unveiled an all-orange livery of factory colours for the 2021 season after the loss of Red Bull backing.

The Red Bull KTM and Tech3 KTM teams joined forces at the Austrian manufacturer’s headquarters in Mattighofen to unveil their 2021 MotoGP liveries, with the factory team’s colours unchanged from last season but a radical new look for the satellite squad.

Tech3 adopts an all-orange KTM livery reminiscent of the manufacturer’s colours from their initial efforts in the 250cc championship back in 2005.

That comes after previous title sponsor Red Bull decided to redirect their sponsorship for the coming year, forcing KTM to take over the backing of the team directly, ironically making their satellite team more manufacturer-sponsored than the factory team.

Double race winner Miguel Oliveira steps up to join former Moto2 and Moto3 teammate Brad Binder from the Tech3 team, taking over from Pol Espargaro as he moves to Repsol Honda.

“The whole MotoGP journey so far has been a dream but the project started with a dream to become a GP winner in that class, so it is amazing to look back and see where we have come,” said team principal Pit Bierer.

“However I definitely don’t want to commit to us already being title contenders.

“I think this pressure should still be on other guys in the paddock but we are really, really happy that the dream came true with these GP wins. They are a fact. They are on paper and we are definitely hungry for more.”
