Valentino Rossi’s Team Sky VR46 squad has unveiled the Ducati Desmosedici GP20 that MotoGP rookie Luca Marini will campaign in next year’s world championship.

The covers came off the bike on the Italian X-Factor show as part of what has become an annual tradition for the TV channel-sponsored team.

The livery reveal was broadcast from the team’s headquarters this year in Tavullia this year instead of on-stage at the X-Factor filming as usual thanks to coronavirus.

Marini was joined by Rossi’s 2021 Moto2 riders Marco Bezzecchi and Celestino Vietti as Sky Sports MotoGP commentator Guido Meda helped them reveal their largely-unchanged colours.

Only one half of the MotoGP team will field the livery shown off tonight, with Marini’s fellow Moto2 graduate and new champion Enea Bastianini joining him in the Esponsorama Racing garage but under different colours.

The Esponsorama/VR46 alliance is still something of an uncertain entity as the details remain to be confirmed.

Marini and Bastianini will share a pit box and some staff, but Rossi’s team will also move up a considerable number of personnel from Moto2 to support his half-brother, including team boss Paolo Nieto, who will share the role with current Esponsorama boss Ruben Xaus.
