MotoGP’s new brand identity has leaked out ahead of its official unveiling at Sunday night’s championship prize giving, after the logo designs were filed online with the EU’s Intellectual Property Office on Thursday.
Marking the first significant redesign since 2007 and a radical departure from the old chequered flag-inspired logo, the new and much more basic design will extend across not just the MotoGP championship but also to Moto2, Moto3 and MotoE, as per the graphics submitted to the European government office.
Right now only filed in black and white, it’s likely that the final look will feature a more colourful appearance, with the new design taking cues from both the new logo unveiled for feeder series JuniorGP last year and for the new-for-2024 World WCR championship.
The new brand identity will be officially unveiled by Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke at the traditional Sunday night gala event where either Jorge Martin or Pecco Bagnaia will be presented with the championship trophy.
