Moto3 rider Jason Dupasquier is reported to be in a serious condition after his crash during qualifying for today’s Italian Grand Prix, according to a brief statement released by FIM MotoGP medical officer Giancarlo di Filippo.

Dupasquier highsided during the final moments of the Q2 session, and both Ayumu Sasaki and Jeremy Acloba subsequently crashed out after encountering the aftermath of the incident.

In a brief statement released by MotoGP’s chief medical officer, he confirmed the Swiss rider’s condition but was understandably unable to give much details as the 19-year-old continues to undergo assessment.

“Jason Dupasquier was involved in a very serious crash during the Moto3 qualifying,” said the medic.

“The FIM medical intervention team arrived with their vehicles immediately at the site of the accident.

“After that he was transferred to the Careggi hospital in Florence in a haemodynamically stable way. And we will wait for further updates from the hospital.

“All that we know is that for sure he’s in a very serious condition, and as I said, we are waiting for updates from them.”
