More than half of the presumed 2021 Formula 1 grid have spent at least one full season in F1’s current primary feeder series, whether in its modern guise as FIA Formula 2 or under its initial GP2 identity.
But many more have been F2/GP2 race winners yet didn’t make it to F1, which will make this quiz extra difficult for even those with more than a cursory knowledge of single-seater racing.
We give you 15 minutes to name every driver to have won in at least one of three series: GP2, which ran between 2005 and 2016; its short-lived offshoot GP2 Asia (which was widely contested by GP2 regulars); and the modern FIA F2, which has completed four seasons so far.
This is the final edition of our daily run of 2020-21 off-season quizzes, and we’ve almost certainly saved the toughest for last. Let us know how you fared in the comments below or by tweeting to @wearetherace, and be mindful of spoilers.
If the layout of the quiz is sub-optimal on your device of choice, try adjusting the page zoom level or switching to a different device – or play it directly on Sporcle’s site.
