The second season of the rally and rallycross esports competition on Codemasters’ DiRT Rally 2.0 will start later this month.

Both the rally and rallycross disciplines will have a $10,000 prize pool.

The winner of the rallycross series will also win a real-world drive in a QEV electric rallycross car that will feature in the new FIA eRX2 Championship.

Online qualifiers for both the rally and rallycross disciplines start on August 25 with the live, in person final taking place in January 2021.

A total of 36,000 players contested in the inaugural season of the DiRT Rally 2.0 World Series with Joona Pankkonen winning the rally championship and Killian Dall’olmo the champion in rallycross.

Dall’olmo also won the sim racers championship in the recent WorldRX Esports Series.

Players who take part in any of the online qualifiers will earn the Ford Fiesta R5 MKII to use in-game.

“The DiRT Rally 2.0 World Series surpassed our expectations.” said Ross Gowing, Game Director of DiRT Rally 2.0.

“We knew there was an appetite, but we didn’t expect the vast level of participation and engagement.

“Now we get to do it all over again with a bigger event and even more prize money.

“We are also delighted to reward players with the in-game Ford Fiesta R5 MKII and hope this is an added incentive for players of all levels to get involved.”
