Formula 1 drivers Lando Norris and Nicholas Latifi have joined the grid for the new Isolation eRacing Series.
The Isolation eRacing Series will start on Monday May 11 and continue with a new episode weekly, and over 100 professional drivers will take part in the new virtual event.
Other drivers taking part include Oliver Rowland from Formula E and British driver Billy Monger.
Taking place on iRacing rounds will be held at some of the world’s most famous race tracks, including Silverstone, Spa-Francorchamps and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Each episode will contain three heats with the top 10 drivers from each heat progressing through to the final race.
The results of the final will determine how many points each driver is awarded which, in turn, will determine the final championship table after the eight-round competition comes to an end.
Each qualifying heat race will be 10 minutes long with the feature race for the final being 15 minutes in length.
Coverage of the races will also include interview footage of the participating drivers while viewers will be able to choose which circuits they see by voting on social media.
The Isolation eRacing Series is the brainchild of former racing driver Enzo Mucci and Chris Harfield of WH Sports.
“The series began life as a training exercise for professional drivers to keep sharp during isolation,” Harfield said.
“It quickly became fiercely competitive and we were inundated with requests from drivers from a range of global motorsport disciplines who wanted to take part.
“The result is guaranteed excitement, as the stars of today go head to head with the stars of tomorrow.”
The tournament will be broadcasted on BT Sport 1 every Monday at 18:00.
