Another Jaguar 1-2 as Formula E heads for Monaco qualifying

Jaguar maintained its advantage in the second Monaco Formula E practice session, with Mitch Evans on top this time in another 1-2.

A 1m31.118s lap at the end of the session gave Evans first place by 0.185s over team-mate Sam Bird, who had been quickest in opening practice.

Bird’s last-minute lap pushed reigning champion Antonio Felix da Costa’s DS Techeetah down to third, while Porsche’s Andre Lotterer jumped from outside the top 20 to fourth with his final effort.

Championship leader Nyck de Vries’ Mercedes was back in eighth, having been among many cars to encounter traffic during the final push on qualifying power levels.

After causing the long red flag in first practice, Sergio Sette Camara was able to get out only for the closing minutes of the second session and was 22nd.

Norman Nato has been given a two-place grid penalty for running into the back of Sette Camara’s static Dragon Penske during that red flag period, and he had another drama in practice two – appearing to make contact with Nick Cassidy as he moved to come into the pitlane while running ahead of Cassidy’s Envision Virgin.
