Williams has become the latest team to reveal its 2023 Formula 1 car after its FW45 broke cover ahead of a shakedown run at Silverstone.
The team kicked off a busy Monday of 2023 car debuts with McLaren and Aston Martin holding launch events later today.
Williams launched its 2023 livery on a show car during an event at the company’s Grove factory last Monday and its new car has now followed this Monday.
Both of its 2023 race drivers Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant are due to sample the car today.
The team’s new team principal, Mercedes convert James Vowles, isn’t present at Silverstone as he can’t officially start with Williams until February 20 when his gardening leave ends.
Vowles replaces Jost Capito whose shock departure from Williams – along with technical director FX Demaison – marked a major off-season shift for the team.
Last year, Williams finished last in the constructors’ championship for the fourth time in the last five seasons with a design that struggled on circuits where performance is dominated by the need for downforce across a wide range of corner characteristics.
Its sole upgrade package of the year came at Silverstone in July and this attempted to address some of the fundamental problems with the car – although it’s had to wait until 2023 to make the major layout changes it wanted to.
