After a wild 2025 F1 silly season, attention will soon turn to who will take a place on the 2026 grid.
Over half the grid is already confirmed, so here's our team-by-team rundown of who is driving for who in 2026:
McLaren
Lando Norris
Oscar Piastri
While any top team would love to have Lando Norris or Oscar Piastri, McLaren has both drivers locked down on long-term deals that cover 2026.
Ferrari
Charles Leclerc
Lewis Hamilton
Charles Leclerc signed a new deal with Ferrari in 2024 that will reportedly keep him in the team until at least the end of 2029.
His new team-mate Lewis Hamilton joined at the start of 2025 on a deal that should ensure he stays at Ferrari for two years minimum.
Red Bull
Max Verstappen
TBC
Max Verstappen is in the middle of a bumper Red Bull contract that should keep him at the team until at least the end of 2028.
That hasn't stopped speculation about his future beyond the end of 2025 though, with Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff openly courting Verstappen throughout 2024.
Assuming he stays, the identity of his 2026 team-mate hasn't been confirmed as Red Bull waits to see if incumbent Liam Lawson is up to the task.
Mercedes
TBC
TBC
Neither George Russell nor Kimi Antonelli has a Mercedes seat confirmed beyond the end of 2025.
It's likely Mercedes has a long-term deal with Antonelli with options to retain him for 2026 but Russell is a 'free agent' - as rival team boss Christian Horner has already pointed out amid Wolff's pursuit of Verstappen.
Aston Martin
Fernando Alonso
Lance Stroll
Aston Martin has a new engine partner for 2026 in Honda but it will retain its Fernando Alonso/Lance Stroll driver line-up for a fourth consecutive season.
Alpine
Pierre Gasly
TBC
Pierre Gasly committed to a multi-year extension with Alpine in the middle of its rollercoaster 2024 season.
The identity of his team-mate for the rest of F1 2025 is uncertain, let alone who will join him for 2026.
Haas
Esteban Ocon
Ollie Bearman
Haas's new-for-2025 pairing of Esteban Ocon and Ollie Bearman both have contracts to continue into 2026.
Racing Bulls
TBC
TBC
Red Bull's second team Racing Bulls doesn't have any drivers confirmed for 2026 with Yuki Tsunoda's future in the Red Bull stable uncertain beyond 2025 when his primary backer Honda departs for Aston Martin.
Rookie Isack Hadjar is looking to make an impression this year while Arvid Lindblad is waiting in the wings in Formula 2 as Red Bull's potential next big thing.
Williams
Carlos Sainz
Alex Albon
Williams secured the services of Carlos Sainz on a multi-year deal in 2024 meaning he'll lead Williams into F1's new era alongside Alex Albon, who is set to return for a fifth season with the team.
Audi
Nico Hulkenberg
Gabriel Bortoleto
The team currently known as Sauber will fully morph into a fully-fledged Audi works effort in 2026.
Nico Hulkenberg is the first confirmed driver, having secured a three-year deal back in April 2024.
His rookie 2025 team-mate Gabriel Bortoleto was announced not just as a Sauber driver but a 'future Audi driver', which reflects him arriving on a multi-year deal and means he should have the seat still in 2026.
Cadillac
TBC

F1's new team Cadillac is yet to confirm who will drive for the team when it debuts in 2026.
It should have plenty of options with F1 experience including 10-race winner Valtteri Bottas. And if it wants some US talent, there's IndyCar star Colton Herta who Andretti and Red Bull previously earmarked for an F1 switch.
