Who is driving when in F1 2025's Bahrain pre-season test

2 min read

Formula 1's 2025 season kicks off with three days of testing in Bahrain - but who is driving when?

These three days are the only time all 10 teams will share a track before the 24-race campaign gets underway in Australia on March 16.

With so many drivers switching places and a bumper crop of new rookies, there will be plenty to watch across the three days.

Each team can only run one car so drivers have to split driving duties across the three days.

Below you'll find a list of who is driving when from what we know so far:

Mercedes

Wednesday: Antonelli (AM), Russell (PM)
Thursday: Russell (AM), Antonelli (PM)
Friday: Antonelli (AM), Russell (PM)

Mercedes rookie Kimi Antonelli will kick off the team's test running on Wednesday morning before handing over to George Russell in the afternoon.

Russell will remain in the car for the first half of Thursday before handing back to Antonelli who will continue into Friday morning before Russell rounds off the test.

The Mercedes W16 will have completed its first shakedown in Bahrain on Tuesday, one day prior to the test.

Alpine

Wednesday: Doohan (AM), Gasly (PM)
Thursday: Gasly (AM), Doohan (PM)
Friday: Doohan (AM), Gasly (PM)

Alpine rookie Jack Doohan will be behind the wheel of the new A525 first in Bahrain before handing over to Pierre Gasly ahead of his third season with the team.

They'll continue to share driving duties across Thursday and Friday with Gasly finishing the test.

Haas

Wednesday: Bearman (AM), Ocon (PM)
Thursday: Ocon (AM), Bearman (PM)
Friday: Bearman (AM), Ocon (PM)

Haas's all-new 2025 driver line-up will evenly split the running in the new VF-25 across the three days.

Ollie Bearman, who has already raced for Haas twice in 2024 as a stand-in, will kick off Haas's test on Wednesday morning with Ocon concluding running on Friday.

Ocon completed all of the running during the VF-25's shakedown at Silverstone on February 16.

Williams

Wednesday: Albon (AM), Sainz (PM)
Thursday: Sainz (AM), Sainz (PM)
Friday: Albon (AM), Albon (PM)

Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz will share driving duties on day one of the test for Williams before Sainz completes all of the running on Thursday and Albon has the car all to himself on Friday.

TBC: McLaren, Ferrari, Red Bull, Aston Martin, Haas, Racing Bulls and Sauber.
