What time is the Chinese Grand Prix? Qualifying and F1 race times

The Chinese Grand Prix will be held for the first time in five years on April 19-21 as the 2024 Formula 1 season reaches its fifth round.

As well finally marking the return of F1 to the Shanghai circuit, it will also be the first sprint event of the season.

Below are all the times you need to know for the sprint, qualifying and the grand prix itself on Sunday.

Chinese GP timings (April 19-21)

Shanghai is eight hours ahead of GMT, and seven hours ahead of BST.

First (and only) practice will take place at 11.30am local time (4.30am UK time) followed by sprint qualifying on Friday afternoon at 3.30pm local time (8.30am UK time).

On Saturday morning the first sprint race of the season will start at 11am local time (4am UK time), followed by grand prix qualifying on Saturday afternoon at 3pm local time (8am UK time).

Then the 2024 Chinese Grand Prix will start on Sunday at 3pm local time (8am UK time).

FP1: 11.30am
Sprint qualifying: 3.30pm

Saturday April 20

Sprint race: 11am
Grand prix qualifying: 3pm

Sunday April 21

Chinese Grand Prix: 3pm
