McLaren will launch its 2020 Formula 1 car on Thursday, and fans can watch a live stream of the reveal on The Race at 13:30 UK time.

McLaren drivers Carlos Sainz Jr and Lando Norris will attend the launch of the MCL35, along with Zak Brown, Andreas Seidl and James Key.

The 2019 season was McLaren’s best since finishing third in the championship in 2012, as it returned to the front of the midfield and took fourth – with Sainz taking the team’s first podium finish since 2014 in the Brazilian Grand Prix.

Technical director Key has spoken of the need to adopt some new concepts in the hope of unlocking greater performance potential as McLaren attempts to close the gap to the top three teams.

This means there are expectations that there will be areas of the car where significant changes are made, rather than being a straightforward evolution of last year’s concept.

This will be McLaren’s final season with Renault propulsion having signed a deal for Mercedes engines from 2021.
