Given he’s got an 80-point world championship lead and has won eight of the 13 grands prix, you wouldn’t imagine there’s been a lot wrong with Max Verstappen’s 2022 Formula 1 season so far.
But the fact the defending champion’s only taken three pole positions isn’t just down to Ferrari having a single-lap edge (or a race execution inferiority) compared to Red Bull.
The RB18 chassis doesn’t actually suit Verstappen’s driving style and isn’t really to his liking.
And there’s not actually going to be much Red Bull can do about that during the season.
