The international fallout from Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has had multiple Formula 1 repercussions – with the Russian Grand Prix swiftly called off and Haas facing uncertainty over what happens with its Russian title backer Uralkali.
The rapid switch to a plain white livery without the Uralkali logos and Russian-themed decals was an outward manifestation of the challenges facing Haas on the final day of Barcelona testing, with the situation making driver Nikita Mazepin’s future uncertain too.
And on-track things were far from encouraging for Haas as it had one of the most disrupted tests of any team.
