George Russell stuck around after the Hungarian Grad Prix to take part in a 2022 Formula 1 tyre test, but for Mercedes not Williams.
So was this just Mercedes taking advantage of using a third driver for the testing process because Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas had previously run the 2022 tyres at Imola, or was there something more to it?
As Scott Mitchell explains in this video, it seems unlikely this would be a total coincidence as we wait for Mercedes to confirm if Russell will replace Bottas in its line-up for next year.
