On Friday the FIA announced details of its longer-term actions to solve the problem of the new-generation Formula 1 cars porpoising.
The governing body fears that the problem will only get worse next year if left unaddressed, hence taking further steps for 2023 despite some teams being unhappy about any action being taken at all.
And though the introduction of the first part of its rule tweaks has been delayed and won’t now come into effect until after the summer break, the FIA’s standing firm on applying them as it believes some teams are benefiting from trick interpretations of the floor rules.
