All the talk at the Portuguese Grand Prix last week was about George Russell potentially losing his Williams Formula 1 seat to Sergio Perez.
While Williams refused to confirm or deny the rumours – only fanning the flames further in the process – Russell was confident that everything would become clear sooner rather than later.
One week on and there has still been no news as to how the situation is set to play out and if Russell – who is contracted at Williams until the end of 2021 – could find himself collateral damage in a topsy turvy silly season and out of F1 altogether.
