Formula 1 has revealed there’s an agreement in place for the 2022 season to feature six sprint races.
F1 debuted the new Saturday sprint race format this year, with sprints at Silverstone and Monza and a planned third trial at Interlagos later this month.
Sporting director Ross Brawn claimed every grand prix promoter “wants a sprint race” at some point, meaning that number of sprint races per season could rise beyond six in the future.
