Ferrari has one of its Formula 1 seats sorted for the long term, with Charles Leclerc having signed a bumper new deal last year to remain with the outfit through 2024.
But his team-mate Sebastian Vettel is officially out of contract this year – and though Vettel remains a reliable performer and is publicly the Scuderia’s first priority for the other 2021 seat, Vettel’s occasionally fraught relationship with Leclerc means Ferrari would be careless to not at least evaluate other options.
