Podcast: The inside story of an action-packed Williams F1 season

Having dominated much of the 1990s, the Williams team naturally plays a big part in our Bring Back V10s podcast series covering Formula 1 from 1989 to 2005.

But it’s an episode about a season when the team wasn’t in title contention that first leapt into our minds when the death of Frank Williams was announced.

His son Jonathan joined us last year to share the inside story of Williams’ explosive 2001, as Juan Pablo Montoya – the kind of hard charger Frank absolutely relished – made his mark on F1 as a rookie.

Jonathan’s anecdotes about his father and Patrick Head’s handling of that season (and others) are a glorious reminder of why their era was so loved by generations of fans.
