Anyone making a donation to our Just Giving page for Blood Cancer UK was able to put an F1 question to our panel Glenn Freeman, Edd Straw, Mark Hughes and Matt Beer, and we had a huge list to get through.
There’s plenty of 1980s and 1990s backmarker chat, classic title deciders are revisited and plenty of might-have-beens pondered – ranging from what would have happened had Mercedes signed Sebastian Vettel not Lewis Hamilton to how Gilles Villeneuve might have fared against Ayrton Senna.
Questions go back in time as far as the start of the F1 world championship itself, the DFV engine and Graham Hill’s decline in form, through to the 21st century and the race that could’ve saved Toyota’s F1 programme and a secret Honda F1 project.
This special episode is the final fundraising activity for The Race’s support of Blood Cancer UK, and the money raised by those who submitted questions helped us surpass £10,000 for our overall total.
