We rate the effectiveness of the 2022 Formula 1 rules revolution in the latest edition of The Race F1 Podcast.

While there was the inevitable rush to judgement early in the season given how eagerly awaited these new rules were, it’s only with a full season of data that it’s fair to draw definitive conclusions. So Scott Mitchell-Malm, Mark Hughes and Edd Straw do just that through a deep dive into how well things worked.

The improvement of the “raceability” of the cars, the impact on the competitive spread, the new 18-inch tyres and the scope for ongoing diversity in F1 car design are all discussed, along with the way the FIA has reacted to design directions that go against the intention of the rules.

But what rating out of 10 did we give the new rules? Find out by listening to our final word on the success of the package.
