Following the announcement that Michael Masi will no longer be Formula 1 race director, among other changes, we debate whether the FIA has done enough to respond to what happened in Abu Dhabi last year in the latest edition of The Race F1 Podcast.

Mark Hughes and Scott Mitchell join Edd Straw to discuss the FIA’s latest moves and their impact on the way F1 operates.

There’s also a look at the changes to the ‘refereeing’ system that has been redesigned to sharpen the operation of race control – and to get the communications from the teams under control.

And with the rules also set to be tweaked, we look at what areas need to change and why.

We also explain the vastly experienced Herbie Blash’s return to act as senior advisor to the race directors and what skillset he brings to Formula 1.

Feb 17 : Masi out - but has the FIA done enough?
