McLaren CEO Zak Brown will miss the British Grand Prix having tested positive for COVID-19.

The Formula 1 team issued a statement saying three of its personnel had returned positive tests during the standard programme it was conducting ahead of the Silverstone event.

The statement added: “Neither of our drivers are close contacts.

“All three cases are unconnected and now isolating in accordance with government guidelines.

“The team’s operations for the British Grand Prix are unaffected.”

Brown had attended the Euro 2020 final at Wembley and the Goodwood Festival of Speed since the last F1 races in Austria.

As well as carrying out his usual duties with McLaren at Silverstone, he had been due to demonstrate a Lotus 79 F1 car from his personal collection.
