Lewis Hamilton has gone back to his Formula 1 roots with his new Ferrari helmet design - returning to the striking yellow colours that he made famous in his early years.
Shortly before the seven-time F1 champion took to the Fiorano test track in Italy on Wednesday for his first run in a Ferrari car, Hamilton revealed his new helmet colours in a post on social media.
The yellow helmet, which is complemented with red lines, features the famous Ferrari Prancing Horse logo on the front, as well as Hamilton's own wings logo and his #44 race number on the top.
Hamilton began his F1 career with a predominantly yellow helmet, which featured red and blue flashes, in 2007.
He kept the design pretty consistent throughout his McLaren spell, but tweaked it for his first year with Mercedes in 2013.
However, from 2014 he began making bolder revisions to his helmet as he moved away from his original design.
This initially involved a shift to a white-dominated paint scheme, before more radical departures included his purple and black colours in 2020 and 2021.
However, in a bid to make his helmet stand out a bit more, he shifted to a fluorescent yellow design from 2022 until the end of last year.
