After what he called a boring Spanish Grand Prix, Gary Anderson asked Formula 1 fans for their suggestions to improve the racing.

In the latest episode of the Gary Anderson F1 Show podcast, he sifts through your many responses to give his verdict on the ideas suggested.

These include ideas such as mandating steel brakes, changing the tyres, modifying the aerodynamics and even some of the more gimmicky ideas such as a Formula E style attack mode.

“You have to attract the casual viewer and the casual viewer who switched on on lap three probably switched off by lap five because nothing really happened,” says Anderson.

“We can all respect Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes for the job they are doing. But for the average viewer who wants to see an exciting TV programme, Sunday’s race was mundane to say the least and boring probably is the right word for it.”

For next week’s episode, Gary will answer your questions arising from the Formula 1 season so far. Put your questions in the comments below, or tweet them to @GaryAndersonF1.

The Gary Anderson F1 Show is released weekly and available from all good podcast outlets, including Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
