Formula 1 has announced a “first-of-its-kind international travelling exhibition” dedicated to the championship’s history.

The showcase, designed and produced by live experience specialist Round Room Studios, is described as “the first major exhibition in the history of grand prix racing”, and is due to include an “immersive and interactive” component.

Venues and ticket sale dates will be announced later this year ahead of a planned 2023 launch.

“Having watched its creative development come to life, we couldn’t be more excited by this project’s potential – it takes audiences ‘behind the curtain’ and celebrates F1’s rich history and heritage like never before,” said F1 commercial boss Brandon Snow.

“This will be a destination for every fan and we’re grateful to the many organisations and personalities from across Formula 1 that have contributed to this spectacular new show.”

The exhibition is to feature input from F1 experts, including those from The Race, along with “historic artefacts” and footage made available through “unprecedented access to the film archives at F1”.

Round Room is part of Canada-based multinational company eOne, which itself is a subsidiary of the entertainment giant Hasbro.
