F1 podcast: Albon to Ferrari? Norris to Red Bull? 2025 grid mock-up

1 min read

Formula 1's driver roster in 2024 is completely unchanged compared to final race of 2023 - but there is little reason to expect the same kind of continuity heading into the following year.

And while a couple of the frontrunning teams have their line-ups already contractually filled through 2025, there's still room for manoeuvring at the front of the field - while for some of the outfits lower down the pecking order changes feel inevitable.

The Race MotoGP Podcast crew gathers for an early preview of the 2025 silly season, with host Edd Straw joined by Scott Mitchell-Malm and Ben Anderson to discuss the outcomes on the table for shaping next year's grid.

Will Ferrari hang on to Carlos Sainz, or will he pursue a flagship-driver role elsewhere - potentially at the Stake team owned by Audi, which currently has Sainz's father fighting to give it a Dakar win? Could Alex Albon then replace Sainz at Ferrari?

Is Sergio Perez destined to lose his Red Bull drive to Daniel Ricciardo, or do lingering doubts about Ricciardo and a lack of no-brainer alternatives give Perez a strong chance of staying? And how does it all tie in with Red Bull's vision for the team soon-to-be-formerly-known as AlphaTauri?

All of these questions, plus the projected line-ups for every single other team, are discussed and debated at length.
