Williams topped day two of 2025 Formula 1 pre-season testing with Carlos Sainz ahead of the two Ferraris, while McLaren kept its outright pace hidden.
Sainz and Red Bull's Liam Lawson were the only two drivers to run the full day whereas every other team swapped drivers during the lunch break.
This gave Sainz chance to notch up 127 laps, and his afternoon began with a performance run on the medium compound C3 tyres.
Sainz’s 1m29.348s lap on those put him ahead of Lewis Hamilton's morning benchmark for Ferrari by 0.031 seconds.

Charles Leclerc took over the Ferrari for the afternoon and ran the softer-spec C4 tyres for a spell but couldn't quite show his hand on them - encountering Isack Hadjar's slower-running Racing Bulls on his best lap and placing third for the day, 0.083s off Sainz.
Both Sainz and Leclerc had quick spins later on as drizzle and cold conditions continued to interfere with teams' programmes.
Mercedes' morning runner George Russell was fourth ahead of team-mate Kimi Antonelli's best afternoon effort, Lance Stroll's Aston Martin and Lawson.

At champion team and pre-season favourite McLaren, Lando Norris took over from Oscar Piastri from the afternoon and took his time to emerge from the pits.
Norris spent most of his session on an encouraging long run and set the day's best middle sector on a late lap that he didn't complete.
At the tail end Haas again stayed on heavy fuel and was substantially slower than the rest of the field.
