With six races of the 2020 Formula 1 season completed, the drivers’ performances in real life have affected their ratings in the Codemasters F1 2020 game.

Max Verstappen, who won the 70th Anniversary Grand Prix and has finished on the podium five times this season so far, has had his overall rating in the game increase from 90 to 91.

The changes to his pace and awareness stats mean he is the second highest-rated driver in the game, having previously been joint second with Valtteri Bottas.

Lando Norris has had his overall rating upped by two, from 79 to 81, with George Russell going up by one to 76.

Despite the change, Russell is still the second lowest-rated F1 driver in the game.

Daniil Kvyat has had his overall rating increased by two with Lance Stroll and Daniel Ricciardo both going up by one.

Not every driver’s rating has improved, with Sebastian Vettel’s pace rating decreasing by two and his overall by one.

Vettel, with an overall of 88, still has a higher overall rating than his team-mate Charles Leclerc, despite the Monegasque driver’s overall increasing to 87.

Other notable drops in ratings include Alex Albon who’s gone from 79 to 77 overall and Nicholas Latifi’s overall rating moving from 64 to 62.

Before the change, Latifi already had lower ratings than some of the Formula 2 drivers in the game.

Championship leader Lewis Hamilton is still the highest-rated driver in the game with an unchanged overall of 94 but has had his experience stat increased by one and his pace by two with his awareness decreasing by seven.

The updated driver ratings can be added to a player’s existing career mode through the in-game mail, or left as they were when the game was released.
