The Renault-owned Alpine Formula 1 team has unveiled its 2025 look and car as part of the series' season launch event.

The upcoming campaign will mark the team's fifth season under the Alpine moniker - Alpine being Renault's sportscar brand - and its fourth with BWT as its title sponsor.

BWT, an Austrian water filter manufacturer and a prominent long-time motorsport sponsor, has been responsible for Alpine being F1's main purveyor of split liveries in recent years. The team has tended to run part of the season in BWT pink and the rest of it in Alpine blue.

Renders of the 2025 car were released by the team in parallel with a blue and pink livery unveiling on stage at the F1 75 event in London.

This year's paint job incorporates new sponsors including Italian oil giant Eni and Uruguay-based commerce company Mercado Libre.

The 2025 season, which is the last F1 campaign under the current regulations cycle, also marks the end of Alpine's status as a works team, as while it is still using Renault power units this year it will pivot to a Mercedes customer deal in 2026.

Pierre Gasly and Jack Doohan are the team's two race drivers, albeit while Gasly is on a multi-year deal Doohan isn't even guaranteed of seeing out this upcoming campaign, given new reserve Franco Colapinto is waiting in the wings and is thought to be a genuine in-season option.

Last year Alpine rose from the back of the field to snatch sixth in the constructors' championship via a double podium in the mixed weather Brazilian Grand Prix.

Gasly is keen the team focuses its efforts and resources on the major 2026 regulation change as far as possible, while consolidating last year's recovery effort this season.

"Objectively, closing the gap on the top four I think looks slightly unrealistic," he said.

"But being in the fight for the fifth spot, looking at the way we ended the season, is going to be achievable this year.

"At the end of the day, if we’re fighting for eighth, ninth or 10th, I wouldn’t say that it matters too much. On a personal level and as a team, just bringing strength to our foundation, our understanding of the car, it’s important to make sure that we nail the 2026 regulations - that’s what matters the most to me because as a team we’ve got to maximise what we’ve got this year, but as a driver the big opportunity I see is for ‘26.

"And also as a team hopefully that’s going to be the year we’re going to really make the next step and challenge for podiums and race wins hopefully."

Gasly described the new car as an evolution that addressed some of last year's shortcomings beyond what had been possible in-season.

"The main issue we had last year which wasn’t addressed due to cost, timing etc, has been addressed on this year’s car," he said.

"Once again, it’s not a revolution. We’ve changed what we know was limiting. We’ve developed and increased the performance in different areas but the, let’s say, core of the car remains quite similar.

"I’m pleased with what I’ve seen. But then over the winter there’s no need to over-think too much because you get the answers in Bahrain when you feel how the car reacts and behaves. Then you get all the answers that you’re looking for.

"I don’t want to say too much but from the numbers it looks good and hopefully it will put us in a good place."
