Seven-time MotoGP champion Valentino Rossi will no longer be involved in MotoGP’s virtual race this Sunday.

The news of Rossi’s withdrawal came as MotoGP issued a confirmation of the full line up of riders taking part for race on the MotoGP19 video game.

Reigning world champion Marc Marquez will still be participating with his younger brother Alex Marquez, both riding for Repsol Honda.

Maverick Viñales will be the lone Monster Energy Yamaha rider with Aleix Espargaro the only confirmed rider for his team.

Alex Rins, Joan Mir, Fabio Quartararo, Iker Lecuona, Miguel Oliveira and Francesco Bagnaia are the final riders confirmed to be involved in the event.

The race will be six laps long and held around the virtual recreation of the Mugello circuit. There will also be a five-minute qualifying session to determine the starting grid.

It will take place on March 29 at 2PM UK time and will be available to watch live on MotoGP’s official YouTube channel.

With the MotoGP 20 video game to be released on April 23, future events organised by MotoGP could be run on the fully up to date game.

As of yet though it is not known whether this Esports race will be a one-off or form a part of a series of races.
