MotoGP podcast: What’s delaying Rossi’s Petronas deal

The latest episode of The Race MotoGP Podcast takes questions from our listeners.

Toby Moody and Simon Patterson tackle a range of subjects from MotoGP past and present, starting with an explanation of why Rossi’s move to the Petronas Yamaha team for 2021 still isn’t official.

There’s plenty of talk about the wide-open 2020 championship battle, why MotoGP can’t use alternative circuit layouts as easily as car series can, the chances of satellite teams for Aprilia and Suzuki in the future, and rider market chat which centres on Andrea Dovizioso’s future.

Toby and Simon also choose their favourite eras of MotoGP, and there’s a special tech segment where Neil Spalding joins in. Perhaps the most important question Neil answers is to explain why in his MotoGP Technology book, he has pictures of Valentino Rossi’s Yamaha briefly running without ‘The Doctor’ stickers in early 2006!
