Codemasters has released the first footage from the Hanoi circuit in Vietnam, which features in the upcoming F1 2020 game.
The new track was scheduled to host the first Vietnam Grand Prix in April, and it could still feature in F1’s revised calendar once racing begins again in the coming months.
On Friday Codemasters revealed in-game footage of the track for the first time, showing an onboard lap with Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari.
Game director Lee Mather said: “We’re always excited to create new experiences for our players.
“Hanoi delivers both thrills and challenges, set against the backdrop of the stunning city skyline.
“It is an adrenaline rush with high speeds, long straights and heavy braking zones, but it will punish anyone who doesn’t respect the walled sections.”
Carsten Tilke, managing director and partner at the Tilke company that created the circuit, said Codemasters “has done a great job” recreating the track, which features “a unique city layout with several overtaking possibilities and high-speed corner combinations.”
F1 2020 is released on July 10 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Google Stadia. Players who purchase the Michael Schumacher Deluxe Edition, featuring extra classic cars, plus new liveries, race suits, helmets and even a customised podium celebration, can get access three days early.
The game will recreate the original 2020 calendar, featuring all 22 races based on the intended schedule before the coronavirus disruption brought all live sport to a halt. However, it also contains options to run customised seasons of either 10 or 16 races.
This year’s edition features a brand new ‘My Team’ mode, where players can create, run and race for their own 11th team on the grid.
