Formula 1 is launching its second mobile based esports competition, this time taking place on the free app Real Racing 3 – which is published by EA.

The winner will earn themselves two grandstand tickets to an F1 race of their choosing next year with the next 10 best players all earning a pair of F1 licensed Formuleyes sunglasses.

The latest update to Real Racing 3 includes all of the 2021 F1 cars and the two events for this competition.

Initially players will have to earn the F1 R3 Esports Challenger car from a bespoke event and then you’ll have to set the best time in a time-trial event. The whole tournament will run from August 3-24.

A previous F1 backed esports competition took place in January this year on the F1 Mobile Racing app and it was won by Italian Matteo Pagliani who got a trophy as well as a free paddock pass to a grand prix.

“We’re very excited to be bringing F1 Esports to Real Racing 3, as we continue to build our presence within the mobile gaming landscape.” said Ellie Norman, director of marketing and communications at Formula 1.

“We hope the competition will see more people than ever before engage with F1 Esports on mobile as they battle it out for fantastic prizes.”
