Formula E signs leading senior Premier League figure

Formula E has made several high-profile staff appointments in recent weeks including a senior figure currently at the world’s leading football business Premier League.

The Race can reveal that Will Brass, who is currently the Head of Sales and Marketing at the Premier League, is expected to join Formula E in April and will be based at Formula E Operations base in London.

Brass has overseen the Premier League’s global sponsorship programme including gaming, brand, marketing and international initiatives in recent years.

He has also managed the recent rebrand of the Premier League, which included new brand positioning and logos and featured major advertising campaigns emphasising social diversity.

Brass also ran the Premier League’s commercial committees and was central to the launch of the ePremier League video game competition and international fan events and trophy tour programmes,

A trained barrister, he arrives at Formula E after a career which has taken in an executive position at the CAA sports property and talent management division. Previously he had a spell as commercial manager at Tottenham Hotspur.

New Formula E CEO Jamie Reigle has also made several other new appointments in the Formula E commercial team, with James Funnell set to join Formula E in the coming weeks.

Funnell will work as the Operations Director in Partnerships and comes to Formula E from AEG where he was Head of Sponsorship Strategy.

He also worked alongside Reigle at Manchester United FC as part of the Commercial team which Reigle headed up between 2014 and 2017.
